Award-winning songwriter Lisa Redford has been heralded by legendary BBC Radio 2 Bob Harris as “one of our finest singer/songwriters”, and earned worldwide acclaim for her heartfelt music which blends country, folk and Americana with memorable melodies and stunning vocals.
Lisa has played with, and opened for many respected international artists within the worlds of country, folk and Americana including Sarah Darling, Jenn Bostic, The Worry Dolls, Tom McRae, Boo Hewerdine, Glenn Tilbrook, Eve Selis, The Handsome Family, Hot Club of Cowtown and many more. She has also performed at many prestigious festivals including C2C Country to Country – Europe’s biggest country music festival – at London’s O2. She has also recorded live sessions for Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2, Amazing Radio and many other radio shows.
She has independently released three studio albums “Slipstream”, “Lost Again” and “Clouds with Silver” as well as EP’s ‘Reminders’ and ‘Another Place and Time’ that have received airplay across the world. Her song ‘Dragonfly’ was played on a Bob Harris ‘Best of British’ show’ which featured the best songwriters in the UK. The song was also used in “Seized” – an independent short film made in LA. For her releases Lisa has worked with many outstanding US musicians including those who have worked with Teddy Thompson, Jeff Buckley, Norah Jones, Martha Wainwright, Rufus Wainwright and Ryan Adams. She has toured the UK and Europe and has had a distribution deal with the UK’s biggest independent distributors, Proper.
In July 2015 her song ‘Here Alone’ was performed by the winner of the Pre-Teen Award at TeenStar, the UK’s biggest teenage singing competition, at Birmingham’s NEC. In 2016 another self-written song ‘Courage’ won Best Original Song at WCOPA, the World Championship of Performing Arts, in Hollywood. She has also been a semi-finalist at the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) for two years running.
Having been based in New York City as well as the UK, Lisa also writes music columns for Songwriting Magazine and iSing Magazine where she previews and reviews major music events, interviews songwriters as well as offering music and songwriting advice to thousands of readers.
