What goes around comes around. And there is no more welcome return for 2017 than the groundbreaking British dance music of Orbital – creators of classic electronic symphonies and timeless dancefloor bangers, originators of live dance music as a must-see ecstatic festival experience.
After a five-year hiatus, brothers Paul and Phil Hartnoll reunite to bring the acclaimed Orbital live show – described by The Guardian and Q Magazine as among the greatest gigs of all time – to a new generation.
Over the span of their 25 year career at the forefront of electronic music, Orbital have toured extensively and released 8 studio albums. They have played and headlined major festivals across the globe, including Glastonbury, Homelands, Tribal Gathering, Fuji Rock, Lollapalooza, V Festival, Benicassim, Big Chill, Electric Picnic, Global Gathering, Creamfields, Woodstock and Coachella.
Their 1994 show was in Q Magazine’s Top 10 of their Top 50 Gigs of All Time and 2nd out of The Telegraph’s 100 Best Ever Glastonbury Performances. Q Magazine also cited Orbital as one of 50 Bands to See Before You Die. They also performed at the 2012 London Paralympics Opening Ceremony with Professor Stephen Hawking. Orbital have also scored and composed for movies and television, including ‘Event Horizon’, ‘The Saint’, ‘The Beach’, ‘xXx’, ‘Football Factory’, ‘Keen Eddie’, ‘Octane’ and ‘Pusher’.
In 2017 Orbital returned to the live scene, headlining Blue Dot Festival, Forbidden Fruit Dublin, WAM Festival Spain, Brussels Summer Festival, Standon Calling, and Summer Sonic Japan. They will close the year with sold out performances at London Hammersmith Apollo & Manchester O2 Apollo.
