She Makes War is the indie rock solo project of multi-instrumentalist producer and visual artist Laura Kidd. Blending urgent indie rock with melancholy torch songs, SMW completed recording her fourth album this summer and since then has been busy recording guest vocals on The Levellers’ 30th anniversary album, taking part in a British Council cultural exchange in Indonesia and touring Europe completely solo.

She launched the PledgeMusic campaign for her new album in November and shot into the top 10 albums trending worldwide, introduced her new live band with a blistering set supporting Britpop legends Echobelly and performed at Hammersmith Apollo alongside Brian Cox, Robin Ince and Sophie Ellis-Bextor before finishing 2017 with three sold out “An Evening with She Makes War” shows in London, Birmingham and Bristol plus two nights at Conway Hall with Robin Ince, Stewart Lee, Josie Long, Nikesh Shukla and Grace Petrie at the Nine Songs and Carols for Godless People shows.

She Makes War heads out on tour supporting Ginger Wildheart in March 2018, with previous support gigs including tUnE-yArDs, Nadine Shah, Suede, The Magic Numbers, The Levellers, New Model Army, Duke Special and This Is The Kit.
