What do I need before I can set my project up?

Email, Facebook and Twitter set up – A reliable way of reaching out to your fans to inform them of the project and direct them to it.

What kind of projects can I run?

You can run a project around your new album or EP, a book, a DVD, a concert tour…anything you’re doing, as long as it’s centered around music!

How and when do I get paid?

You will get paid as your project progresses. More info on payments.

What happens if I don't reach my financial goal?

No harm, no foul. Pledger’s cards aren’t charged until you reach your goal (unless they transact with their Paypal account), so brush yourself off and try again! Note that with pre-order campaigns, fans are charged in line with the transaction.

How does the PledgeMusic commission work?

PledgeMusic takes a flat 15% fee of the money raised, which covers all of our expenses including hosting, support, and even credit card fees. We only get paid if you reach your goal. With pre-order campaigns, the same 15% fee applies.

What kinds of merchandise and other items can I sell?

Physical items like CDs, vinyl, t-shirts, posters, lyric sheets, and anything else you have. You can also offer signed items to provide something special for your fans. Experiences are also great – have a Skype call with a fan, give a guitar lesson, bring them backstage at a show. The sky’s the limit!

Does my album/ep/book/dvd need to be finished before I set this up?

No it doesn’t! Fans come here to be a part of the creation process!

How does fulfillment of orders work?

We have our very own fulfillment system in the back end that will help you stay organized as you ship items out to your pledgers. We even have fulfillment partners who can take on the manufacture of fulfillment of your goods.
