A GUY CALLED GERALD: A Manchester born British musician, record producer and DJ. His big break came with his early work in the Manchester acid house scene in the late 1980s and the track “Voodoo Ray”. At that time, he specialised in techno music produced using equipment such as the Roland TB-303 bass synthesiser and the TR-808 drum machine. He has collaborated with 808 State and released close to a dozens albums as a solo artist.
TRIP CITY: A novel set in the underground world of London nightclubs and concerns a fictional designer drug called FX. It was written by Trevor Miller and published in 1989 by Avernus Creative Media – a book imprint founded by celebrated Science Fiction author Brian Aldiss. The Trip City novel was packaged with a soundtrack cassette of original music by A Guy Called Gerald.
