It’s New Music Monday, where we help you ease into your week with the latest tunes from our featured artists. This week, The Faint unveil their latest single, and A. Sinclair release the first track from their forthcoming ‘Catpaws’ LP.
Back in October, The Faint released their single, “Chameleon Nights,” the band’s first new music since their 2014 album, Doom Abuse. That single marked the first track from their newly announced album, Egowerk, which is now available for pre-order.
Now, the band has unveiled the second single from the record — “Child Asleep,” which arrives with an intense music video to match its dance-y, chaotic sound. Check out the music video above.
In a press release, vocalist Todd Fink discussed the music video’s inspiration, stating, “Social media is turning well-meaning people into self-important cruel monsters. Egowerk’s focus is on the current social state of the Internet: an amazing world of free knowledge, communication, and opportunity is proving to be a toxic battleground. One where the people most sure of their opinion are quick to take a stand and destroy anyone who doesn’t agree with them.”
Egowerk arrives on March 15 via Saddle Creek. Pre-order the record along with signed items, merch bundles, and more.
Aaron Sinclair has announced his band’s upcoming album, Catpaws — their third full length effort, and the first since their 2016 album, Get Out of the City. As they prepare the album, they have given fans their first taste of the album with the single, “All I Wanna Do.” You can stream the song now at the band’s Soundcloud.
Fans of A. Sinclair will be pleased to hear that their newest tune doesn’t stray far from the style they’ve come to know and love from the band, yet provides a matured sound and pristine production that suggests this album is going to be their best to date.
Catpaws is set for release on February 1 via Nine Mile Records. Pre-order the record along with exclusive merch, autographed memorabilia, and more inside.
