I’m William Miller, director of Don’t Follow Me (I’m Lost) a film about Bobby Bare Jr. My new project is a feature film focusing on the rock band Deer Tick. I set out to make this film in winter of 2014 around the bands 10th Anniversary. But after spending time with the band – and shooting 6 amazing shows – I quickly realized this is a story much bigger than just the anniversary.
STRAIGHT INTO A STORM is centered around DEER TICK’s 2015 10th anniversary run in New York City. A portrait of a hard rocking band known for their substance-fueled live performances on their evolutionary journey to become one of the greatest cult rock bands of our time.
Anchored by a fan chosen setlist and New Year’s Eve performance, the film weaves in and out of time over the last 10 years utilizing never before seen archive footage from their booze drenched early days to the successful touring/recording band they are now- and everything in between.
I am looking to have the film complete by mid summer, so this is where I invite you to be part of the project. Your pledge goes towards final post production costs.
