As many of you know we are in the midst of our Hardcore Devo tour playing the seminal, experimental songs we created in basements and garages in Akron Ohio between 1974 and 1977. We have not played most of these songs that pre-dated any fame or record contracts since that time. In order to honor our fallen comrade, Bob “Bob 2” Casale we decided to follow through on his idea to resurrect the initial creative efforts that brought us all together as a band in time where we came of age and prevailed against all odds.
To document this once-in-a-lifetime Devo tour we brought in award-winning filmmaker, Keirda Bahruth to capture the mind-blowing event so that we might share it with all of you. “DEVO – Hardcore Live” (filmed June 28th at the Fox Theater in Oakland California) will be available on DVD, CD and Vinyl as well being made available on Blu-Ray with deluxe package choices chock full of devolved extras!
And just to let you know, if you pre-order here on PledgeMusic you will become one of the select group who gain exclusive access to “the making of” including photos, video, audio tracks, tour artifacts and more!
Use your Freedom of Choice and select from a range of well-priced options designed to fit your tastes and budgets.

From a stage super-heated by over-the-top, rock ‘n roll cliche lighting, DEVO faced a sea of Asian Gen X’ers in a 100 degree plus fahrenheit venue in the bowels of Tokyo, Japan. The crowd was swathed in bootlegged energy domes and DEVO T’s, mouthing the lyrics to songs we wrote when most of them were loading their diapers with UNi-colored poo. Maybe it was a “Beautiful World” after all!" – Gerry Casale. Track list: That’s Good, Girl U Want, Whip It, Satisfaction, Uncontrollable Urge, Mongoloid, Blockhead, Jocko Homo, Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA, Gut Feeling/Slap Yer Mammy, Gates Of Steel, Freedom Of Choice, Come Back Jonee.
4 versions of the song featured in Dell’s TV ad campaigns, one produced by Sweden’s famous Teddy Bears!
This vinyl release contains four versions of the song “Watch Us Work It”: Teddy Bears Version, Original Devo Demo Version, Karaoke Version, and “Still Workin’” Version. It was recorded at Mutato Muzika in Los Angeles and produced by Sweden’s famous Teddy Bears. The DELL company heard it when Paul Malmstrom and Linus Karlsson at the Mother agency in NYC pitched it as a possibility for a TV campaign for the newly developed, high-end laptop computer. DELL loved it, so they used it for nationwide TV ad campaign. The vinyl also includes “Devo Was Right About Everything” by Attery Squash (re-mix by Robert and Gerald Casale).

Classic DEVO now on DVD! Live in 1978-79, philosophy and more!
The Men Who Make the Music combines concert footage from DEVO’s 1978 tour with music videos and testimonials featuring a vague story about DEVO’s rocky relationship with “Big Entertainment.” As for Butch Devo and the Sundance Gig, Jerry Casale says, “In January of ’96, we closed Sundance Film Festival. We wore 20s style prison suits and dished out classic DEVO songs to an unsuspecting audience of Hollywood elite.”
The classic Devo DVD contains 20 music videos, rare performance footage and tons of extras!
Now, the complete truth can be told. Devo, the seminal new wave audio-visual concept band, made a career out of setting to music video their dada-gone-camp theory of De-Evolution and its riotous rebuke of corporate culture. “The Complete Truth About De-Evolution,” a comprehensive collection of Devo’s output, is an essential tour of the pre-to-post-punk scene. Included among their 20 music videos are groundbreaking pre-MTV clips that defined the form with twisted genius intros and outros, rare performance footage, and a sizable assortment of extras.
