Hey, this is Seth from Dumptruck, and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who participated in this PledgeDrive. We’ve more than met our goal, and it’s really heartening to see that 30+ years on, people are still interested in the music we’re making. So again, thanks to all of you.
In the process of doing the PledgeDrive, we’ve also managed to connect with Schoolkids Records (based in North Carolina), so we will be distributing the record through them (they can do a much better job than we could ever do ourselves). This means that we’re tied into a much more structured release date than if we did it ourselves, currently the official release date is scheduled to be January 26th, 2018 (provided we get all the mastering and artwork submitted on time, which shouldn’t be a problem – all of that is currently in process). We hope and expect to have the digital downloads available well before that, and as soon as that’s ready we’ll let you know.
We’re just now getting a handle on shipping out orders. If you ordered a new CD or a new T-Shirt, they will be shipped as soon as we have them, hopefully well before the official release date. If you ordered only old items, we will be starting to ship those out in the next few weeks. If you ordered a mix of new & old stuff, we will wait until we have the new CD’s & shirts so that we can ship your whole order at once. And lastly, if you purchased the ‘Day in the Studio’ or ‘Write a Song with Seth’ package, please contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org to make arrangements.
Again, thanks to all of you for your support. It means the world to me.
Hello Kind Fans-
We hit our target. THANK YOU!
We’d really like to thank everyone who’s contributed, we’ve been trying to finish this record for several years and we wouldn’t have been able to release it without your support. It’s really nice to know that we have fans who continue to support us after all these years.
We’re going to get to work on the final steps of getting this record out but as a way of offering a small token of thanks, here is another new track from the album- “Smile”.
This song is much more recent, it’s unusual for me as I’ve always been pegged as someone who writes ‘depressing’ songs, and that’s probably true to a large degree. ‘Smile’ is either a complete break in form or the exception which proves the rule, it’s up to you to decide.
Since you all have been so kind to offer your support thus far, I wanted to share a song from the new album as a token of my appreciation.
‘Money’ is actually a pretty old song, it was (mostly) written (or at least had its genesis) in the time period when the band was in our 2-1/2 year lawsuit. We were touring constantly, but most of the money we were making was going to pay off the lawyers’ bills, so everyone in the band was feeling kind of frustrated (including me). I was never really happy with the versions we had done before – I felt like we just hadn’t found the proper arrangement. So we tried reworking it some (both musically and lyrically), and were really happy with what we ended up with.
I hope you all like it!
