My dear friends, supporters and pledgers
Salaam, Shalom…. Shaddapayouface!
I hope you’re all digging ‘Roughnecks’ the most!
I come to you Norman Pitkin-like, cap in hand, but with exciting news to impart; I have been offered, and have accepted the support slot on The Proclaimers 2015 UK Tour starting in Newcastle on the 16th October and finishing in Dundee on Dec 19th.
I’m over the moon to have been offered this great opportunity, and by blokes and artists who’s work I’ve admired for years. Its a real honour to open for them across 32 dates in some really great seated auditoriums.
The Proclaimers have been very generous in asking me (over artists with record co. backing offering to ‘buy on’) and have kindly offered to cover the ‘front of house’ sound and light costs, and supplying a dressing room rider and catering. However, taking a 4 handed band out on the road and covering fuel, logistics and accommodation is a very costly undertaking, I don’t have a label, management or publishing company that I can approach for ‘tour support’ and that’s why I’m asking you, you iridescent people crammed full of stars, to have a look at my new Pledge Campaign.
There are plenty of exclusives on offer. As well as a blistering Live 4-track E.P. recorded in Sheffield by Mike Timm who produced my last two albums, there’s hand written lyrics / ukulele charts, signed limited edition posters, coffee and cake with me on tour, private concerts and much more…. I’m offering some Dexys stuff as well, my own personal AAA tour lanyards and laminates and a couple of rare Tee shirts from 2003.
So Im hoping you will have a think, look favourably on this and get involved where you can. Your support is vital, and sincerely appreciated. Im hoping to raise £1500 before the tour starts in Oct.
So ta ta fer now…. go away but be back soon.
Hope to see you down the trail.
