I'm still missing my sweatshirt. Ugh...

I'm in the same boat. MusicToday told me to contact PledgeMusic about the Sweatshirts. Waiting to hear from them now.

Anyone who is still missing an order file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

Are they trying to get people's money back?

They are taking a list of complaints. It’s bananas they are still taking money when they owe so much. I would recommend getting a hold of your bank for a refund. They can refund anything that goes back 90 days. Beyond that you maybe out of the money. I was unable to get my money back from them. I’ve contacted the FEC and NY attorney generals office in hopes the site gets shut down before others fall for the scam.

If anyone hasn't received a digital download link or has any questions about the CD and LP orders please email Music Today at orders@musictoday.com and reference "Sara Bareilles Pledge Fulfillment" in the header.

They weren't any help to me.

FYI These pledges are now being sen out by MusicToday as Pledgemusic went out of business. I received both the download link and the shipping confirmation on time, and customer service was very helpful when I called to ask about the sweatshirt I bought as well. This is in NO WAY on Sara, and also not on MusicToday. Pledgemusic definitely disappointed on this one though.

I have not received my digital download yet. I sent them an email asking about it (haven't resorted to calling yet bc that takes time it if my day), and I still haven't received anything. Yes, I've checked my junk mail.

Me too. I have not received a download link yet. I also sent them an email two days ago but no answer yet. :-(

Just received my download link after writing the second email. You just have to be patient.

Like literally everyone else, I am extremely disappointed. This is my 10th, and now final, Pledgemusic album I've supported. The lack of communication for this project is abysmal, and I've seen some people blaming the artist, though i wonder if this is something she set up or people who are responsible for her did.

Still, the utter lack of communication is dreadful. The fact that it's a day past album release date and many of us don't have download links is pathetic.

To let others know: there is an email from another source: noreply@musictoday.com. It could have been put into your spam folder; it was for mine. It was sent out Wed letting us know that orders were supposed to have been sent. So check your spam folders for possible links to what you paid for.

And the fact that someone pledging has to mention that is just a statement for how badly this project has been mishandled. Shame on everyone involved, from Pledgemusic to Bareilles to whoever's managing this page.

I won't be using this service again. Late/no fulfillment. Might as well have spent $10 on iTunes and gotten the singles as they came out. What a disappointment.

I never got an email with my download.... I sent them an email asking about it but still haven't received it.

I have to say that I'm really disappointed with how this project turned out. And it has nothing to do with PledgeMusic's recent financial problems. This all sits squarely on Sara's shoulders.

When I participate in a PledgeMusic project, I expect at least one of three benefits (all three would be nice, but....): 1) the artist will engage with the participants with updates about the progress of the project; 2) the final product will be somehow unique/different from what I can buy at retail (bonus tracks, for example); or 3) I will receive the product in advance of its availability at retail. For any of these benefits, I am willing to pay the premium that a pledge typically represents over the retail price of the product.

This project has failed on all three counts. There was no artist engagement. The product is exactly the same as what I can buy on Amazon or at Target. And while the project was due to fulfill on March 8th (presumably as a tie-in to International Women's Day), four weeks before the retail release date, March 8th came and went with no update, and fulfillment instead got pushed back to be the same as the retail release date.

(continued)

The CD on which I spent more than $20 (including shipping) was mailed today by Musictoday and will arrive Monday, three days after the release date. I could have driven the five miles to Target and had the exact same CD in-hand this morning for $9.99. Or ordered it on Amazon and had it tomorrow for $9.97. So what good, exactly, did pledging do me?

PledgeMusic bears no responsibility for any of this. Sara failed to engage. Sara chose not to produce a unique product for pledgers. And while I'm willing to allow that the fulfillment delay may not have been Sara's direct responsibility, it's not as if it was due to a failure to receive PledgeMusic funds. Epic Records has enough coin in the bank to float the CD pressing whether they get the PledgeMusic dollars or not.

I've been a big Sara Bareilles fan for a dozen years. It's a shame to see her treating her most ardent fans (the ones who would be inclined to pledge) with such disrespect. One silver lining in PledgeMusic's troubles is that hopefully she won't soon be baiting us again with any lame crowdfunding projects.

Anybody know when the digital download is going to be available (or if it is). I'm getting the sense PledgeMusic was running a bit of a scam, and if I'm out $10 that's fine I guess. I can buy it on iTunes right now, but I really wanted it in FLAC.

eogan

eogan commented

Kyle, I received an email from orders@musictoday.com (not PledgeMusic) with my digital download link this morning (April 5th) at 1:30amEDT. The download is 320mbps MP3, not FLAC.

Got my email about shipment too. Moreso disappointed because it seems like there was nothing really with Sara posting updates or offering any other special reasons to actually pledge. I’ve contributed to a few pledges before and kept an eye on a few too and it was always cool to actually feel involved with the artist, especially because I got this as a gift for my wife who is a huge Sara fan and was hoping it would be more special for her but I guess not. It’s a little annoying if pledge has turned into a place where they just get the money themselves and the artists aren’t as involved.
