Fan Preview Party and Exclusive Goody Bag at The Jam: About the Young Idea exhibition, at Somerset House, London, Saturday 27th June 6.30pm – Late

This summer, Somerset House is hosting the world’s first exhibition about The Jam. All three members of the band – Paul Weller, Rick Buckler and Bruce Foxton – the Weller family and official archivist Den Davis have contributed for the exhibition. Curated by Nicky Weller, Tory Turk, Russell Reader with additional advice from Gary Crowley, The Jam: About the Young Idea will provide a comprehensive insight into the extraordinary band whose music immortalised life for Britain’s disenchanted youth during the late 70s and early 80s. Through unseen material and fan memorabilia, The Jam: About the Young Idea will chart the trio’s journey from Sheerwater Secondary Modern in Woking to superstardom. Exhibits will include hand written lyrics, original stage outfits, personal photographs and footage, unreleased music videos, early scrapbooks, letters and postcards, posters and fanzines, and the band’s instruments.

The Public Gets What The Public Wants…
