The three titles in this batch of re-issues are, ‘Come Out Fighting Ghengis Smith’, ‘HQ’ and ‘Bullinamingvase’. These are limited editions independently released on my own label, Science Friction.
The audio has been remastered and mixed by myself and my long time friend and engineer John Fitzgerald at Lettercolm Studio in West Cork, Ireland. John helped enormously with the re-mastering, bringing to life most of my finicky insights. He also provided additional bass on the title track of ‘Come Out Fighting Ghengis Smith’, something I’d needed to happen for fifty years. Miraculously, we discovered original tapes, but that was just the beginning of our problems. Happily most of them were overcome.
The artwork has been reproduced and enhanced by my dear friend Harry Pearce and his team at Pentagram in London. You’ll see that the Cover to ‘Come Out Fighting Ghengis Smith’ has changed. I have at last had the time to find the image that I wish had been available to me in 1967. Unfortunately most artists had very little power back then to make those kinds of decisions about a final product, even though their name was on it. Further elaboration on that topic later…
These three titles will be released in deluxe gatefold covers on 180g vinyl. All three contain a heavy, printed inner sleeve with the lyrics, updated notes and new images.
Finally… I really want to encourage support of this pre-order campaign. It’s much greener and efficient for Science Friction, Tracy and I, to have Pledge fulfil the initial orders that would would normally go through our website. It saves the movement of larger quantities of bulky stock and packaging supplies from the UK to Ireland to only immediately post much if it back in the opposite direction. It’s a very good option for these re-issues and I appreciate all of the help and patience that was given to us from the Pledge team in setting up the original campaign.
